Sport Structures - Sport Education and Training

Assessment requirements

In order to complete the qualification, learners should:

  • Complete all written tasks contained within the learner portfolio or delegate evidence record.
  • Prepare for, lead and review a Physical Education and School Sport activity programme (as per the task guidance), documenting plans, delivery and evaluations within the learner portfolio. Each must be witnessed by a suitable individual, such as a member of the teaching staff. A minimum of two of these or other planned sessions must be observed by a qualified assessor, agreed or appointed by the recognised centre. Observations must last the full duration of the lesson. There must be a period of one month in between each observation to allow growth and further development

Completing your qualification

You will be aware that you are required to complete a minimum of two workplace observational assessments as part of the qualification. When organising your assessments, we recommend that you provide us with a minimum of one months’ notice.

We recommend that where possible, the assessments are ‘live’ and an assessor observes you in your own environment. If assessors are required to make more than a 50-mile round trip, you will be asked to pay for the additional mileage at 30p per mile ahead of agreeing to proceed with the assessments.

When you are ready to be assessed, please contact me via email and we will follow the below process:

  1. Email [email protected] when you are ready for assessment, including details of potential dates and venue.
  2. We will then source a local assessor (in most cases this will be your course tutor).
  3. We confirm the assessor and calculate if any additional mileage is required.
  4. You confirm if you are happy to go ahead with your assessment and if necessary, pay the additional mileage fee.
  5. We confirm the assessments with you (i.e. logistics) and introduce you to your assessor.
